COMMUNITY

Our Coalition focuses on coordination and collaboration, connecting multiple sectors of the community as a comprehensive approach to reducing substance abuse among our youth. Join us in community events and monthly coalition meetings.

FOR PARENTS

Figuring out if your child is using drugs or alcohol may pose a challenge. Many of the very early signs and symptoms could just be typical teen or young adult behavior. Our resources aim to help you navigate this challenging time.

SUBSTANCES

View information on the commonly used substances by teens: Alcohol, Marijuana, Nicotine, and Opioids. We provide information on the effects of substance use as well as signs and symptoms.

FIND HELP

Looking for help but unsure where to start? We have listed contact information for organizations providing help for substance abuse in our community, including: hotlines, substance abuse treatment centers, support groups, and more.

Hidden In Plain Sight Trailer

The “Hidden in Plain Sight” program offers adults an insight into what your child may be hiding in their rooms. This hands-on learning opportunity focuses on alcohol and tobacco use to current trends in the abuse of other drugs such as cannabis synthetic and “designer” drugs, opiates, cocaine, amphetamine-type stimulants, hallucinogens, and prescription drugs.

During this program which is geared for parents, guardians, or other concerned adults, participants are given time to inspect a mock-up of a typical teenagers bedroom. Following the inspection, a presenter discloses the different articles and their significance.
